What is tipping practice for visitors to China ?
|
 |
| |
It is a common practice for visitors to tip the tour guide
and driver in recognition of their good service. Hotel bellboy
expects your tips as well. It is not customary to leave
tips at hotel or local restaurant as the bill usually includes
10-15% service charge. |

 |
| |
For China domestic flights, you are allowed to check one
piece of luggage. The limitation is 20 Kilograms (44 pounds)
total. A fee may be imposed for extra piece or excessive
weight. You can also take one hand carry-on plus a backpack
or tote bag, all of which should fit in the overhead compartment
or under your seat. |

| Is the voltage there the same as in North
America ? |
 |
| |
No, it is not. The voltage is 220 Volts and you should pack
an adaptor if you decide to bring any electronic unit with
you during the trip. |
| |
| What to pack for my trip to China ? |
 |
| |
The rule of thumb is to pack lightly, and bring casual clothes.
A sturdy, comfortable pair of walking shoes is an absolute.
A sports coat and a nice shirt for man, and one or two dresses
or pantsuits for women will suit the most formal occasions
to be encountered in China. Travelers should bring shirts,
sweaters and jackets that can be worn in layers to suit
a range of climates. Shorts (for both men and women) are
fine for summer days though not recommended when visiting
religious shrines. Remember, dress for Comfort, not for
Style.

system operates at 220 volts.

Why choose train and bus to travel Silk Road, not
choose plane and bus?
|
 |
| |
1. It is said that the plane is the vehicle between the
main cities.
How to deal with those cities without airport, such as Turpan
(the Ruined City of Gaochang ,Sugong Minaret, Grape Valley
and Flaming Mountain), Tianshui(Maijishan Mounain), Qinghai
(Sun and Moon Mountain, Qinghai Lake and Ta' Er Temple),
Jiayuguan Fort. These spots are worth visiting? Certainly,
because the plane usually goes and return from spots with
bus. While some spots will not be visited, because the bus
unable to arrive and the plane unable to land without airport.
2. According to what the specialist said, the train is lack
of time flexible. As long as the train is arranged appropriate,
it'll be the best vehicle. |
| |
|
Why the accommodation on the train isn't inferior
to land?
|
 |
| |
The accommodation of other cities may be inferior to train
except hotel star 5. There are separately carriage on the
New Orient Express, where music and light could be adjusted
and provide fresh fruit, free tea and mineral water. There
are bar, Karaoke system, dinning room and lunch and dinner
have 10~12 dishes.
It is said that the plane is faster, but ´´
If you travel by air, you need to move and check in 1.5h
ahead of departure. You'll check out and wait luggage
and the airport is usually in the urban far away the city.
